Terms & Conditions
Welcome to the website and registry of the Canadian Doctors Orchestra / Orchestre des médecins du Canada (CDO/OMC). By accessing our website or registering as a potential member, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.
1. The Nature of the Initiative
The CDO is currently an emerging foundational initiative. By registering your interest, you acknowledge that:
-
The CDO is in the developmental phase and participation in the registry does not guarantee a seat in a future ensemble.
-
The "residency" model and gala performances described are goals for the near future and are subject to funding, logistics, and member interest.
2. Eligibility for Membership
To participate in the CDO as a musician, you must be:
-
A licensed physician (MD or equivalent) in good standing in a Canadian province or territory; or
-
An active medical resident or medical student currently enrolled in a Canadian faculty of medicine.
-
Verification: We reserve the right to verify professional standing or student status before confirming participation in any performance or residency.
3. Use of the Registry
The CDO registry is intended for professional networking and orchestral recruitment only.
-
Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and truthful information regarding your medical credentials and musical experience.
-
Prohibited Use: You may not use this platform to solicit medical advice, promote pharmaceutical products, or engage in any commercial activity unrelated to the CDO’s mission.
4. Intellectual Property
The name "Canadian Doctors Orchestra / Orchestre des médecins du Canada," our logo, and all content on this website are the property of the CDO.
-
Members may not use the CDO branding for personal or professional promotion without express written consent.
-
Any future recordings (audio or visual) of CDO performances will remain the property of the organization for archival and promotional use.
5. Limitation of Liability
The CDO provides this website and registry on an "as-is" basis.
-
Event Cancellations: As a project-based organization, we are not liable for any personal costs (such as travel or lodging) incurred by members should a planned residency or performance be postponed or cancelled.
-
Professional Advice: Content on this site is for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical or legal advice.
6. Code of Conduct
The CDO is dedicated to physician wellness and peer-to-peer connection. We maintain a "zero-tolerance" policy for harassment, discrimination, or unprofessional behavior. We reserve the right to remove any individual from our registry or future ensembles who fails to uphold the professional standards expected of the Canadian medical community.
7. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to healthcare charities or musical partners. The CDO is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external sites.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Canada and the province of British Columbia.
